Thursday 2nd. Feb. '17 (veggie soup)

Gym yesterday was the first time I felt I'd really worked out.

I increased the incline on my 20min walk, which really found my calves. I'm going to stick to this for a while, including my 5k if I can. It's certainly more of a challenge.
Then I increased the repeats on the weights from 24 to 30on all of them. Didn't want to increase the weight as some of them are tough enough, but the extra repeats worked the muscle groups substantially more.
Then, just before colllapsing, I upped the rowing from 1,000m to 1,200m. Again it was enough to know I'd done it.

After all that I made myself go around the marina a couple more times, Paddys given up, and I ended up walking 16,719 steps! My target is 12,000 so I was very pleased and treated myself to a slice of the granola flapjack I'd bought for the craft group!

Earlier in the week I'd made myself some veg. soup. It has to be the easiest way to get veggies down. I bought a soup mix of vegetables from Tesco, covered it in veg stock, seasoned it and added a couple of cloves of garlic and some chopped ginger root, threw in the leftover sweet potato and carrots from the day before and boiled it all up, then put it in my thermal cook pot for the rest of the day. Whizzed it up so that there were still some lumps in it and voila, a good weeks worth of soup.
